Cherishing Our Children:
A Spiritual Perspective

Addressing a year of news about children, national speaker Julie Ward will speak in Asheville on Nov. 2, 2014, on the topic of "Cherishing Our Children: A Spiritual Perspective."

How can we best support the children of the world -- whether they are suffering from conflict, crime, poverty, neglect or illness?  “In my own experience," Ward says, "I’ve found that prayer for my own children and for the children of the world has brought solutions and healing to our lives.”

She will discuss her ideas at 3 p.m. Sunday Nov. 2 in the Blue Ridge Room of the Deerfield Center at 1617 Hendersonville Road.

A resident of Atlanta, Ward is a Christian Science practitioner and teacher and is a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship based at the church's headquarters in Boston. From childhood, she loved to dance and learned to value its qualities of discipline, obedience and persistence. She danced with a small regional company and eventually became its associate director and choreographer, teaching jazz and ballet to everyone from the tiniest little ones to the professional class.
