Special Thanksgiving Day Service

Thanksgiving will be celebrated at the church at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014, with special music and readings including the Presidential Proclamation and verses from the King James Version of the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. A special portion of the service will be set aside for members of the congregation and visitors to give thanks for all their blessings. All are invited. 

Cherishing Our Children: A Spiritual Perspective

Addressing a year of news about children, national speaker Julie Ward spoke in Asheville on Nov. 2, 2014, on the topic of "Cherishing Our Children: A Spiritual Perspective." 

A resident of Atlanta, Ward is a Christian Science practitioner and teacher and is a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship based at the church's headquarters in Boston. You can watch a YouTube video of her lecture by clicking here.

As one of the worldwide branches of The Church of Christ, Scientist-- which includes 1,850 branch churches and societies in over 80 countries -- we invite you to explore the healing ideas of Christian Sciencefrom the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, at our historic downtown Asheville location in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. 

Our congregation has served generations of families and mountain visitors. Children up to the age of 20 are welcome in our Sunday School, where they learn inspiring Bible lessons such as the Ten Commandments, the Lord's Prayer and the Sermon on the Mount. (Can you beat the top score in our Bible game?)Nursery care is available for small children.


We host a Christian Science Reading Room-- a community bookstore and reading center for the exploration of spirituality and prayer -- in the historic Miles Building at 2-1/2 Wall Streetin a vibrant area of shops and restaurants downtown. A wide variety of books, materials, magazines, audio, and video products, including Bible materials as well as Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and other writings by Mary Baker Eddy, are available to borrow or purchase.
